European at W Springfield show?
Posted by: Dottney - 12-19-2014, 02:22 PM - Forum: Tours, Events and Shows - No Replies

I'm wondering if there will be anyone selling HO European prototype stuff at the W Springfield show in a couple of weeks.

 ROKU Railroads Unlimited
Posted by: Charlie B - 12-18-2014, 04:02 PM - Forum: Strictly Rail Operations - No Replies

Hi Blue, for those of us with Roku's hooked to the TV there is a Railroad Channel "Railroads Unlimited" http://www.roku-channels.com/railroads-unlimited

Lots of great old films on railroads and models. My wife (I hate to admit) just found and installed the channel on our player. I will probably watch some oldies tonight.

 HO vehicles-am I missing something?
Posted by: River Witch 14 - 12-18-2014, 06:57 AM - Forum: Blogs - Replies (13)

Since I have been working on my current layout,I have purchased a number of Classic Metal Works trucks and I have found
that only metal on these trucks are the screw or rivet that holds the cab to the frame and the wheel axles.
To me it just seem odd that the word "metal" in the product name would indicate more metal than just a screw and axles.
The only trucks that I have that are actually metal were made by Imex.
Perhaps I'm missing something here.
Let me hear your views.

 Department Store interior?
Posted by: twilight - 12-17-2014, 09:35 PM - Forum: Scratchbuilding and kitbashing - All Scales - No Replies

Has anyone ever done and interior of a department store? Kind of what I'm thinking is a large city store (mine's 3 stories) maybe from the 30's, 40's, or 50's. Looking for ideas or photos of completeed buildings.

Thanks, Mark

 Perth and Exeter -- rebuilding
Posted by: BR60103 - 12-17-2014, 09:04 PM - Forum: Layouts - Replies (2)

I haven't been too good about showing my progress. I;m now at the third wall and the second loop.

trying out the platform for Exeter (St. Dayle's) station. It will probably be moved back. This is the platform from the last layout.

A view showing the loop. I kept the railfanning spot from the old layout but it was on a grade so I had to put in a grade down. The supports are IKEA shelves, with L-girder benchwork resting on them. There's a 6 foot space from the wall to the door frame.

 Kit bashing my way
Posted by: Catt - 12-16-2014, 01:49 PM - Forum: Scratchbuilding and kitbashing - All Scales - Replies (4)

I've posted these else where but since they are kit bashes I figured I would post them in this forum. These are going to be my first projects for 2015 and they are Z scale. They are bashed from Showcase Miniatures kit parts. The cabs are from the utility truck and the chassis are from the Ford COE units. There will be slight difference in wheel base as one is a day cab and the other is the over the road version with sleeper.

These are the kits I am using parts from (not these models but kits of these models)
