For locos that require traction tires, is bullfrog snot a good alternative? A colleague said that it's basically the same thing as caulking,which would work just as well (and be cheaper?). Just curious if anyone can comment on these two alternatives.

Their website is quite helpful and it seems that Bullfrog Snot is easy to apply.

I've been waiting for ESPN to set up the Fantasy Racing for 2014 and they still have not set it up as yet. I'm thinking of opening a league at NASCAR.com.

The Greely Freight Station Museum in Colorado is about to release the second installment of their scenery DVD series. The second one is about making rocks, while part one was making trees. (I have it from a reliable source (the cameraman and producer :-) ) that part 3 will be about making water).

Hey guy's just got hooked up here no more than what I have seen looks very cool. I have had or built train layouts for years right now don't have a layout got no room I am a n-scaler and have been for the last 15 years but I like all train related things buildings you name it. So I guess I'll fit in here hope so, ok so long from North Carolina.

I was hoping someone might remember a small-ish (perhaps 2 by 4, or 3 by 6 foot) Erie layout that I THINK was the subject of a thread here. If I recall correctly, it wasn't a build thread, but more of a "Look what my buddy built" type post.

I seem to remember a two-track main line, with a branchline that goes up to a town and industries, etc. Not much to go on, really, but I hope someone might know which layout I mean. Fingers crossed.

Not much of a picture for starting a new WPF thread, but time to do so.

If you're building a structure kit which provides separate castings for the doors and windows, I've found it to be easier to mask-off the gluing surfaces with the parts still on the sprue, rather than scaping paint off later.
Lay the tape out, sticky-side-down, on a smooth surface (glass is ideal), then use a fresh blade and a straightedge to cut it into strips narrow enough to fit the sprue-mounted parts. Multiple identical items are usually in rows and columns, allowing single strips of tape to cover many pieces.
