The Big E model railroad show was great this year. Even the new Better Half enjoyed herself. Bought herself some Chessie stuff and of course I had to also(unfortunately it was in that other scale. Nscale I think they call it) Here's what followed me home yesterday.

how to make a gondola load with resin. Pictures would be helpful. Where do you get the resin? I have pieces of junk I have saved up and want to make a load. Thanks

Have been trying to get the body back on a sound-equipped CSX Dash 8 -40C. Been trying for over an hour now and the b***** thing still will not seat properly at the front. Something is stopping it around the cab area but try as I might, I can't work out what it is. Anyone else had similar issues?

I spent the last few days working on this off and on..

It started out as an old Varney kit that was started by someone else.

I re-soldered the body and added some wire grabs. It was nowhere near square .



The details were kind of on the chunky side, so they were replaced from my parts box. The car also got a wooden roof walk from some scrap venire.

I didn't want to go crazy with under body details, so I just grafted on a center sill that I had laying around. The kit had the mounting pad for the train-line brake on the wrong side of the coupler ,, I decided to leave it alone, just to leave a small quark from the Varney kit. I did grind down the screw heads that hold the body to the frame as they were very visible.

I gave it a quick spray from a rattle can of black paint and tossed on some decals from Doctor Wayne and Tomustang. Now if the deep freeze ever ends I can give it some weathering hock: .

The Third Annual Great Minnesota Train Expo will be held on March 22 & 23, 2014 at the Eagan Civic Center. We have layouts of all sizes and vendors of all types.

Come and meet Choo Choo Bob and the gang with special guest Sir Topham Hatt of Thomas the Tank Engine fame.

GRVS has both a T-Trak and an N-Trak layout which they are opening to the modelling public at large. If you wish to join either layout with your own modules fill out an application found here
