Fitrst I airspraied the whole body with a diluted 1/8 of the basic boxcar color ( mineral red )
The truck was airsprayed grimy black diluted 1/4
The coupler roofbrown diluted 1/8

The boxcar side and top were coated with:
acrylic burnt umber and raw sienna
Then some white artist crayon on the CN lettering

raw umber pastel + 1 coat of Model master Acryl 4636 flat clear acrylic .

Oddities among the model railroading kits. Sometimes I have no clue what items are, perhaps you have a oddity and would like to post it here so someone else might be able to answer what it is.

I'll start: Circled in yellow, this kit is made by bowser for selley, it's a portable compressor trailer but I have no clue what this square L bracket is...

Hi out there in builders land.
I am looking for Accu Paint.
It is listed in the 2007 Walthers Reference Book ( catalog). When I search for the product is showes to be on BO, with no know date for delivery.
I did a Google search and came up empty. Anyone using this paint? Is it still made? Any help would be appreciated.
BTW this is for a kit bash project. N scale. I am making a Western Pacific GP20 from a Life-like (Proto-N) GP20 unit. The life-like GP20 comes with a low hood.
The Western Pacific had high hoods. I got a good deal on the GP20 so I started looking for a SD7 or SD9 shell so I could cut the high hood from the SD7 and splice it on the GP20 unit, I found a GP7 (Atlas) on E Bay and had it shipped.
I now have the unit ready for paint, there for the search for this paint. Looking for # 15 warm orange or #85 WP new orange and #40 Aluminum.

I managed to get some crappy pictures of the F45's and some pics of the MRC 1806 (for Kato SD40-2) Sound decoder installed. You must use liberal amounts of Kapton tape under it and add solder to the pickup pads (for better connection) and you need to file down (narrow) the wide center of the decoder (where you see the kapton tape sticking up) also desolder and solder the motor pickups from the Athearn board to the MRC board and when installed the decoder os backwards so you need to set CV29 to 007 for reverse operation. Works well and sound is pretty good.
