i was curious what the most popular type of locomotiveon your layout is.
if i break it down by type of locomotive on my layout it would break down as the following
EMD models
SW 1200
6 models varous roadnames
GP 7/ 9 I never can tell them apart
6 models mostly CNR
GP 30, 40 and 40-2W
9 models various roadnames
SD 40-2
9 models various roadnames, but mostly CN and CP
SD 70Mac
1 unit
DD 40
1 unit
MP 15DC
1 unit
F unit
1 unit. CNR
GE models
Dash 8-40CW
3 models all LMS
Dash 9-44
1 unit BCR
Alco
RS 3
2 units both CN
i find it strange that I have so many EMD units since I perfer GEmodels , other than switchers. since I have a switching layout the big work horses do not get out much
what is your break down by Locomotive makers?

| Passenger car interchange?? |

I know that to some extent Pullman cars where interchanged between railroads. I am wondering if, and to what extent railroads interchanged their home road passenger cars??
I know that the PRR, NYC and Wabash (to a lesser extent) all shared Detroit Unioin Terminal with the PM.
I am wondering if it would be prototypical to have passenger equipment, outside of the typical head end cars, from a different road?
I have come across some information about this practice, but only as it pertained to head end cars and Pullman. Not that it would directly effect my passenger operations, as I do not plan on doing extensive passenger switching. I know I will have through traffic featuring PRR and NYC as well as my home road, but they might have to stop and pick up a sleeper, or swap out dining cars.
It is not an important issue to me, my curiousity stems more from a rail fan perspective.

I'm looking for a Northern in N scale... how are the new Bachmann ones? I've realized I got a lot of great steam on my layout...but CN used a lot of Northerns in their roster and I could probably use one or two on my layout...
Other than the Bachmann Northern does anyone else currently produce one that will operate on 11 radius turns with ease? I've heard the Con-Cor one likes to skip around on them tight turns a bit more than usual... that and with their last two locos I've bought and had issues with, I'm having issues trusting them....

Man i hate it when this happens
Okay, if you love steel mills, this guys work is a MUST see, even if you are not a steel mill modeler, this is a MUST see!! Your jaw will hit the floor, i guarantee it
http://www.zahkunst.net/mainpage.htm
This guy does the most amazing, incredible, beautiful, and amazing work i have ever seen in my entire life! His stuff had to cost thousands and thousands of dollars to build. The site is a little hard to navigate, but once you get the hang of it and figure it out, you will see more and more of his work as he explains what he uses to make the buildings. To give you a idea of how much stuff he has, he has 10 yes count them 10 BLAST FURNACES on Blast Furnace Row
In the link above, You are on the main page of the site i think, or the home page. At the very top, click the link that says "1:160 model". After looking at the preview pics and the trackplan on that page, click the tab titled "Blast Furnace Blog Page" at the top in the scroll menu. To go to the next page, click the Blast Furnace Row + Support tab to see the rest of his work,. After your done with that page click the one next to it called Power Generation + Support and so on.....
This guy does fantastic work!! All is N scale but he uses HO and N buildings.
Check it out if you have not seen it already, its truly amazing work he does
Thanks to this guy, i want to re-design my steel mill plan for my future modeling in the steel industry
