This will be Part 2 of my News Years Resolution Challenge

This will be to:

• 1. Go to Lowes and use my gift cards to buy lumber and foam to make the bases for 2 30" x 60" moudles
  2. Get 7 Central Valley Number 8 Turnouts, a pack of Central Valley Branchline Tie Strips package of 50, and get some Code 70 Rail to lay the track on the 2 modules
  3. Start construction on the 5 large buildings on the modules
  4. Lay the road and the dock yards for the buildings using WS Smooth-It.
  5. When laying the roads, do a tutorial for everyone to see how i do them (people have been asking about my roads and ive been promising a tutorial for some time now :oops: )
  6. If i get that far, ill start some scenery work on the 2 modules
  

So i have 2 new years resolutions that i would like to accomplish before this challenge ends May 30th, 2009

They will be documented in separate threads. This one will be dedicated to the CAT Rental Module and things that need to be done to complete it. I will place a date completed next to each as i complete them.

List of things that needs to be done are:

• 1. Repair the roads of damage **COMPLETED ON JANUARY 29, 2009**
  
  2. Fix CAT Rental Building Equipment Yard
  
  3. Finish Guard Rail work along the entire front of the module and also add dirt/weeds along the front edge where guard rails run **COMPLETED ON JANUARY 30, 2009**
  
  4. Assemble the Pre-cast Concrete Segments that came with the Great West Pre-Stress Building **COMPLETED ON JANUARY 27TH, 2009**
  
  5. Start Construction on the new Bridge extention. This includes setting up concrete forms and laying the "re-bar" using piano wire for casting the two bridge abutments
  
  6. Make one more Power Pole so i can re-route the Power Poles around the New Bridge Extension Area
  
  7. Paint the front edge of module brown **COMPLETED ON JANUARY 30, 2009**

To build a single 2'x4' HO scale module to the standards of the Four County Society of Model Engineers. Been talking about doing this for a year now, a group of friends has gotten together and built 4 corner modules, time for me to get off my duff and get started.

Goals for the challenge:
1. to build a 2'x4' module, HO scale, compatible with FCSME standards
2. to achieve some level of basic scenery with backdrop by April 30
3. to be fully wired and operational by April 30

This will accomplish two ends, (1) I will finally have a module to run with my friends and (2) i will have a place to photograph my equipment besides my bookshelf.
Whether I meet April 30 deadline or not remains to be seen, but at least this will get the ball rolling.

Be it resolved that...

I will get buildings and vehicles onto my friend's modules by the March or April (i.e. the one after February) set-up.

A friend has built me a set of 2 6-foot modules to use at <!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="http://www.hotrak.ca">http://www.hotrak.ca</a><!-- m --> meets. In return, I will build several buildings and scenes for his Bancroft & Irondale modules - also a set of 6-footers. Buildings will include: Bancroft Station, water tower, lumberyard, and 3 coal mines (loading facilities only). Details, vehicles, figures, etc will be added.

yep, I made some silent resolutions for 2009. The one's that I should pay attention to, but most likely won't are:

• To lose about 20 pounds
  To exercise at least three days a week
  To eat healthier meals
  To spend more and get the economy going again
  To achieve world peace
  

• Get my trainroom organized to the point that I can work efficiently and actually find everything I need within a short time of searching
  Finish redoing my trackwork on the new section of my layout and getting the track on my older section working better than it is now
  Finishing at least two of the kits that I've started over the past few years but haven't gotten around to completing.

Has anybody heard from Deano lately? Haven't seen anything from him lately

These are a few photos of the Prescott and Eastern's newest locomotive.
It is a freelance locomotive built from an MDC 2-8-0 chassis, an AHM Casey Jones boiler and cab with an Aristocraft tender.

I just saw an old B&M rail fan movie from the 40's called The B&M in the 4 seasons. I'm really not a B&M fan but I just could not look away. If your a steam fan it's definitely a must see. I had no idea the B&M had so many x PRR + RDG coaches. I was also taken by there beautiful Pacific's, they were a close match to a USRA type with a shorter wheel base. If you get a chance to see it ,it's worth the watch. The part with the track maintenance crew is very cool. My cable CO. shows these type of movies on the RFD network almost every week on "trains and Locomotives" Hope yours carries it too.
