  3-D printing results
Posted by: nachoman - 05-04-2018, 12:40 PM - Forum: Upper Berth - Replies (12)

Hi all - been awhile since I posted here. Twin babies have kept me quite busy (and quite broke!) for the past year and a half.

Lately my modeling has been in front of a computer screen - drawing things up to be 3-D printed. I can do that inside at a desk while the babies sleep or play, whereas it's not as easy to get time in my workshop. I have had some success printing things on Shapeways, and here is my latest result:

It's an HOn3 hopper I drew up based upon some others I had scratchbuilt following a 1958 article in Model Railroader. The print came out excellent, and the assembly was easy.

  A New Switcher For UP.

When I first saw this photo of UP's new switch engine I had a feeling of Déjà vu because of the resemblance this engine has with the Alco's C415.

Who would have thought?

Fine Scale Miniatures, the I.M.DUNN Co.
Posted by: Ensign - 04-29-2018, 09:38 AM - Forum: HO Modeling - Replies (8)

Hi everyone, I thought I would share with you my version of "Fine Scale Miniatures" last kit Jewel Series No.19 I.M.DUNN Co.
I have always been a big fan of George Sellios, and of his kits and of his fabulous layout the Franklin & South Manchester.
I built my Dunn's kit slightly different from what the instructions suggested.
I hope you will enjoy my photos, of the completed scene.

Woodland Scenics Just Plug LED lighting
Posted by: Chet - 04-23-2018, 08:56 AM - Forum: HO Modeling - Replies (6)

For a long time I have been tempted to install lighting in another town on my layout. Woodland Scenics has their Just Plug LED light so I thought I would give it a try. Here is a photo of what I have been able to do so far. Te town is about 12 feet long total and it wnded up that I need an expansion hub to to be able to complete the town. I do like the way the lamps look, just right for the transition era. It is a bit of a pain working with wires that aren't much larger than a hair, but I do like the results.

I just got this from Flickr....here we go again
We’re excited to announce that Flickr has agreed to be acquired by SmugMug, the photography platform dedicated to visual storytellers.

SmugMug has a long history of empowering people who love photography and who want to improve their craft, making them a perfect fit for Flickr and our creative community. With SmugMug, we’ll continue to focus on you, the Flickr members who inspire us all with your work.

Nothing will change immediately with regard to your Flickr account. You will still access Flickr with your current login credentials and you will have the same Flickr experience as you do now. We will continue to work to make your Flickr experience even better.

We think you are going to love Flickr under SmugMug ownership, but you can choose to not have your Flickr account and data transferred to SmugMug until May 25, 2018. If you want to keep your Flickr account and data from being transferred, you must go to your Flickr account to download the photos and videos you want to keep, then delete your account from your Account Settings by May 25, 2018.

If you do not delete your account by May 25, 2018, your Flickr account and data will transfer to SmugMug and will be governed by SmugMug’s Terms and Privacy Policy.

Read more detailed FAQs about this transition on the Flickr Blog.

We’re happy that Flickr is your home for photography and we look forward to the next chapter in our adventure together as we join the SmugMug family.
Thanks,

Continuing with my efforts to honor other forum members with cars on my layout. I am also learning more about printing my own decals and applying them.
