Hill Top Cemetery
Posted by: ak-milw - 04-05-2015, 09:50 PM - Forum: HO Modeling - Replies (11)

While I am building the next section of benchwork I will also be working on the Hill Top Cemetery. This scene will depict an old rural cemetery ( I hope ) I started out with the hill.

I shaped the foamboard, painted it brown and added some rock retaining walls.

 Using the mainline for switching
Posted by: postman - 04-05-2015, 05:45 AM - Forum: Strictly Rail Operations - Replies (7)

Hello.
I´m designing a switching layout with a long single mainline track and a long siding with spurs. I know it´s a dumb question but can I use the mainline for switching the industries?

 help downloading old post
Posted by: NJ Devils Fan - 04-04-2015, 03:54 PM - Forum: Forum Problems and Requests - Replies (4)

I need some help. I recently lost some valuable information that was stored on a computer disc. It was my ENTIRE collection of railroad timetables, rule books and misc. memorabilia. I remembered that I posted that information as part of a attachment here on this forum, way back on May 13th, 2011. As luck would have it, that attachment is STILL here, however, I cannot open the file because, as it states, I need a updated version of Microsoft to do so. Is there any way that some one here may be able to open that file and send it to me via e-mail, without me needing to purchase another Microsoft product? Or, is there another way of doing this that I am not familiar with? I do not want to spend hours re-entering that information on another disc. The file is attached as LIST.2.doc. Any help would be greatly appreciated. My e-mail is szabko@roadrunner.com

In the market for a new airbrush since mine is packed away someplace in our move and I haven't found it yet Big Grin . It's a single action brush anyway and I always wanted a dual action. I found this on Ebay. I've never heard of this brand. So I was wondering if anyone else has had any experience with particular model or manufacture?

 Legend of Mick Dodge
Posted by: teejay - 04-03-2015, 04:27 AM - Forum: Lower Berth - Replies (1)

Has anyone watched the Legend of Mick Dodge on the National Geographic channel ? It is a reality type of show ( most of which are crap imo ) but this is quite differnt . The guy lives in a Washington rain forest for 8 or 9 months of the year and has been doing it for 25 years . The guy is certainly different , a little strange , living off the land pretty much on his own except for one or two others like him who live in the vicinity . But I enjoy his quirky sense of humour and the fact that he lives off the land ....no guns
to blast away at wildlife ......and the show has a lot less phony drama compared to other reality shows .

It's not for everyone's taste but you might give it a try .

 20ftx15inch Switching layout
Posted by: postman - 04-02-2015, 07:53 AM - Forum: Layouts - Replies (50)

Hello everybody.
After tearing down my last layout, now I´m designing a building a switching layout based on modules. The layout will be 20ft long and 15 inches deep and my idea is to model a single track mainline and a switching lead with industrial spurs. Maybe I´ll go only with a switching lead and the industrial spurs but right have built 4 modules with the single mainline track,. The line is served by CSX but haven´t chosen a place, think I´ll proto-freelance. This is a rough plan of the layout, minus industry labels.
