to avoid an paintjob for available untis, I´m looking for an Athearn Genesis MP15 in New York and Atlantic livery, #156 or #159 and an GP38-2 #261 from the Athearn RTR Line. Maybe someone has such an unit and would like to trade or sell it.

I´m happy about every offer or hint where these engines are available.

Well folks, this is it, this is the last of our original anniversary cars to be put up for auction. It’s hard to believe that we’re now into our fifth anniversary and we a still dealing with cars from out second one. Our plan was to auction off these anniversary cars over time, some were on tours, others were not. We are at the end and have the last N scale original anniversary car. Make no mistake; this is the last one that we will be auctioning off, so if you want one, this is the time to bid. This one is for an N scale, 40’ boxcar #BBG 100100 as pictured below. It has been decorated by Sumpter250, but was not part of a tour, . The car has been stripped, repainted in BB&G colors, decorated in our Anniversary scheme and clear-coated. Along with the BB&G herald, it has the “Anniversary Special” lettering. The build plaque shows a build date of 12-01 (when the original Gauge was started) and a rebuild date of 12-08 (the rebirth of The-Gauge as Big Blue). Those are the dates that make up our 10th and 2nd anniversaries. Also, note that this car has a unique number that will not appear on any other BB&G rolling stock. We will leave any weathering to its new owner if they think it’s appropriate. This car, we hope, will become treasured and be a show of pride for your membership and support of the Big Blue Train Forums.

Note that the winning bidder of this car will receive, along with the car, a certificate of authenticity signed by the person that decorated it.

Now, let’s get started. We are offering N scale, 40’ boxcar #BBG 100100 to the highest bidder. Here are the bidding rules:

1. There is no minimum bid and no reserve, the highest bidder at the time the auction closes will get the car.
   
2. Please keep you bid raises in increments of at least fifty cents and preferably a dollar or more.
   
3. You can bid publicly by posting it in this thread. This thread is for bidding only; any comments or questions should be made in this thread or by PM to either ezdays or ngauger. Non-bid posts will be deleted from this thread.
   
4. If you want to enter an anonymous bid (just like the rich and famous do), you can PM either ezdays or ngauger and we will bid on your behalf, (we will post the bid amount, but keep your name confidential, just like at those big auction houses). You may also want to give us the maximum you would want to go and we’ll bid for you by adding one dollar above the last bid, up the maximum that you have set, again, just like Christie’s does for the big boys.
   
5. The auction will run until December 31st, at which time we will announce the winner and ship the car to them.
   
6. The successful bidder will pay all shipping costs. That cost is estimated to be under $5.00US.
   
7. Payment can be by PayPal, check or MO. We will give the winner instructions on how and where to pay.

I've been wondering this for a while, so here goes it. How does one know what kind of gear box and motor to purchase from NWSL? I have been thinking of trying one on my next Bowser locomotive project (maybe a PRR N2s). Now to my knowledge all Bowser PRR frieght locos are a 29:1 gear ratio. I guess this is of importance in gear box selection, but I also figure that the size of the enclosure the gear box and the motor will live is important, too. And while I'm thinking of it, how does the gear box and motor attach to the frame?

Yes, in 2008, on December 17th, we officially opened the Big Blue Train Forum.
After much excitement and lots of stress on the old board, ezdays and I decided that it was time to start down a different road.

We created this board with a lot TLC and respect for our membership and our staff. Path and Packey have both been tremendous in their recreating the “blue” board we once had, as well as making sure we were always happy here.

We have a lot to be thankful for, in that we have very few disagreements, just a couple of members banned for cause and very few spammers. One thing we attribute it to is that since we have no ads, there are no tracks (pun intended) for the spambots to follow of course, some more persistent humans have gotten through our safeguards, but as many members have seen here, they don’t last long. We can thank the constant vigilance of all our members and our staff for this.

We have had many of our members participate in our challenges, tours and auctions and there are still some that are doing car exchanges. All this shows what kind of mutual respect we all have for each other here at Big Blue. This respect and friendship has been cultivated over years of having fun online… and off line as well.

The owners/administrators and the Moderators never stop trying to create new ideas for our members to join in on, so that we can keep the board fresh. However, it’s not too difficult when we have many members that have the freedom to create Weekly Picture Threads or the Hobo Camp Thread for all to enjoy! We really cherish this ride, one that everyone here makes possible. The reality of stopping in here and just calmly reading posts bears no resemblance to the board we left 5 years ago, and reflects that which we originally had… and we thank you all for participating and enjoying it all along with us!!!

We are actually refocussing the layout in the 60s-70s and need to upgrade the track. For this reason, we are cleaning out surplus cars. All cars have METAL wheels and KADEE except if otherwise mentionned. EVERYTHING IS HO SCALE.

INTERMOUNTAIN

I've got on hand a few Intermountain cars that are too modern (90s) for the layout. They have gathered dust on the layout but otherwise (over one year), they only saw little operation time and are in excellent condition with no wear. None are weathered. They are not kit but RTR. I prefer to offer them to other fellow modellers that will do something with them instead of leaving them gather dust.
