Good morning and a Happy Thanksgiving to all who are celebrating this holiday. I hope everyone has a great day, and remember what today is all about. For those who don't celebrate this day, still pause for a bit and think about all the things you have to be thankful for. My health may not be the greatest, but when I see some people walking with walkers or canes, getting pushed in a wheelchair or pulling around a tank of oxygen, then my problems don't seem so bad anymore. For this I'm thankful and for the good health of my wife, sons, DIL's and grandchildren.

Today is, as they are now calling it, "Gray Thursday", tomorrow is "Black Friday" and "Cyber Monday" is just ahead. The Christmas shopping season is upon us. Me, I'll be just reading the newspaper ads and flyers, that the extent of my shopping this weekend. Based on the size of today's paper, I'd say it'll take me at least the rest of today to read them all.

I occaisionally try to pick up some neat pieces of earth. Here is a bunch of my better pieces-

I've been doing some research lately and have found that several of the old ammunition dumps built for WWII have new roles. The depot at Susanville, CA for example handles depleted uranium as well as a number of other logistics activities.

The depot at Pueblo, CO has long been working on the disposal of mustard gas and other agents.

These are large installations which were extensively rail-served in their heydey, and would make outstanding projects for those so inclined.
