  Micro Drills

Picked these up at harbor freight...

Haven't used them much yet, but since they all have a 1/8" shank and a plastic collar, I've used my fingers to twist and drill through plastic. For this many small bits, it's a good price. My only complaint is the sizes aren't labeled Sad But, a caliper and a drill size chart helps me out there.

Posted by: cthart - 11-23-2015, 10:24 AM - Forum: HO Modeling - No Replies

In case you missed it, Moloco has a new run of GA RBLs available on a spiffy new website. I just received some of these cars and they look fantastic!

  Watch This Space!!!!
Posted by: Charlie B - 11-23-2015, 09:14 AM - Forum: Upper Berth - Replies (13)

Remember when someone or something would put an add in the paper telling you to "Watch this Space" sucking you in hoping for an important announcement? Sometimes it would start months ahead of the announcement of an event that was going to happen some time later than sooner, but it got your attention.
The point being....Watch THIS space. Coming soon to a layout near you..

Be Honest , Now ! Goldth
I'm not a pack rat type who has to keep everything because One Day I might use it . In cleaning up my train room and work area I came across more magazines and articles I stored for that rainy day , ......10 years ago ! Never opened them once . I can;t believe how many train mags I've collected and never looked at again . Sooooo OUT THEY WENT . Now , I'll miss them I suppose . Goldth

  Micro Engineering Trestle
Posted by: sailormatlac - 11-19-2015, 06:53 PM - Forum: HO Modeling - No Replies

Hi!

I'm actually in the planning process for a diorama. I'd like to know what would be the footprint of a ME trestle tower with only one storey (lenght and depth).

Thank you!

  Facebook Groups
Posted by: teejay - 11-19-2015, 01:45 PM - Forum: Upper Berth - Replies (21)

I'm about the last guy that would be considered a social media advocate ....no cell , no texter , on Facebook but rarely converse , but I have joined about 20 old car and truck related ( mostly Ford ) groups .
My interest in model railroading has been along the lines of industrial settings , particularly steel mills , so I joined the Steel Modelers Facebook Group . Now Facebook Groups of any sort can be an administrative and moderators nightmare with the seemingly large number of idiots to banish so there is a downside .but .........

....here's where I'm going with this . There is also a new HO Model Railroader Group and it would appear to have a lot of novices on it judging by the many pics of " plywood central " , but it's nice to see a number of young people getting into or reacquainting themselves with the hobby . I'm most encouraged by the number of posts I see and the questions they are asking .

  Fitting sound chip to SD40-2
Posted by: Catweasel - 11-19-2015, 02:44 AM - Forum: DCC - Replies (5)

I've got a Bachmann DCC fitted SD40-2 and wish to fit a sound chip to it. Can anyone advise me as to what chip is recommended and how to fit it please? I think that a speaker will have to go in the cab, but where does the chip go. Thank you.

  Walthers Kits
Posted by: Catweasel - 11-18-2015, 03:54 PM - Forum: Upper Berth - Replies (4)

I think I've just scored a bargain. 7, unmade, Walthers kits, crane, works car + other box cars for a total of $60.00. Does that sound OK? Seller is in the UK.

  Diamond T in HO

Hi all!
Here is my latest build:

A Diamond T water truck from a Woodland scenics white metal kit.
It was so many casting flaws, and the rear axle wasn't in the kit...

But I'm pleased with the result!
