I have wanted to build a "tern" ( Three Mast Schooner ) for a long time and...... the time has arrived.
While I still haven't decided on a name for this vessel, here She is. The fore cabin has yet to be constructed in these shots, the model is being scratch built, plank on frame, and the hull and deck are 1:87 scale 1" X 8" planks.
Her length at the waterline is 88'
Length on deck is 96'
Length over-all ( tip of bowsprit to end of main boom ) is 132'
Beam is 36'

There's still all the deck details, masts and spars, and then comes the "tedium".... RIGGING
   

I've just come across this blog http://industrialscenery.blogspot.com/. Lots of handy industrial snippets.

The largest Freemo* meet yet in the UK happened this weekend. Great fun was had by all, it all mainly worked and we met old friends and made some new.

I'd like to know if anybody ever tried to paint decal sheet, then seal them before applying them on a model. In such way, it could be possible to make colored stripes of any color. I can't print color decals, so it could be another avenue to explore.

We were down for a while this morning, it seems as if our database got corrupt. We owe Packey a huge THANK YOU for his efforts getting us back on line as quickly as he did. (His mom says give him 50 hoorays).
