Guess I'll start this weeks photo fun.

My latest (G)normus scale acquisition. USA Trains GP38-2. This one is getting repainted. Haven't decided either to match my HO scale Southwhick & Winsted GP38, or one of Winchester and Western's. I'm pulling for W&W's #2184, which I got a cab ride in back last October.

There be coal in dem their hills..... ok had to do that Any how in the appalachain area other than conrail being able to tap the mines in that region what other roads of the 90's would have been seen in the area?

Here's a list of things I'll be doing to each engine.
The GP40 is an Athearn part# 4411and the road# is 3297
-Sound/DCC
-Front/rear ditch lights
-Weathered
-White roof
-Renumbered to 4427
-Grab irons, lift rings, pilot details (hoses, plow, etc.)
-Amber warning beacon (non operational) on engineers side hood.
-Pockets on rear pilot for extra coupler knuckle.

The GP38 is Walthers Proto part#30771 and the road# is 2749
-Sound/DCC
-Front/rear ditch lights
-Headlight relocated to the nose
-Weathered
-White roof
-Renumbered to 2641
-Amber warning beacon (non operational) on engineers side hood, bell on conductors side hood.
-Pockets on rear pilot for coupler knuckle.

The Dash 8 is an Atlas part# 9008 the road # is 5937
-Sound/DCC
-Front ditch lights only
-Weathered
-White roof
-Renumbered to 5959
-Correct horn
-Pockets on rear pilot for coupler knuckle.

The Atlas and Walthers models don't really need anything done to them as far as details go. I've started the Gp40, I have the grab irons, lift rings and handrails installed. I've never done handrails before so I'm not sure whats the best order to completing them are but I fitted them to the engine then I'll glue them then remove them to paint.

He is a operation that is going on on NS branchline near my house !! there is no siding it's a old plant that is closed up & they are cleaning up the soil !! it consist of a container lifter , trackmoblie & spine cars with containters , you could find 2 out 3 ,But the spine cars & containters would all have to be made!! :o hock:

I was trying to slice off some molded pilot details then sand it to make room for a plow and other pilot detail and I accidentally cut a chunk of the pilot off. I made the diagonal cut a square and was going to use some styrene and putty to fix the pilot. Is that the best way to fix it or maybe someone has had a similar mishap and has a better method.

Well there was 2' of untouched space on th alayout. I want to copy a tunnel cave in I saw on another layout. This one was in HO, so I'l have to work a bit harder to make it believable in 1:20.3

Can anything be done with the search feature to make it work? I did a search and this comes back

Now car may be common, but scale shouldn't be. I get this quite often on searches and wind up giving up on older threads.

The other day while in one of my less than lucid moments (bi-polar and manic depression) I was looking at my layout and said to myself-"self" why the hell don't sell this thing. Face it your
finances are in the toilet and you really don't like running trains (would rather work on scenery and details then run trains). After giving this a lot of thought I came to my senses and said
to myself again-"are you out of your mind?" You have labored on this layout for over six years and you would sell it? Not likely. It's true-I don't think I could ever sell it even if things
in my personal life suck and they do. I have invested too much time,effort and money into this layout just to get it to this point.
I'm curious-have any of my fellow modelers ever been in a similar situation?
