As Charlie and Ed have said in the past interest in the WPF has dropped off considerably.

Hello from Australia, my name is David, I have been involved in model railroading for about 50 years but dont consider myself to be a quality modeler, I guess its because I dont have an artistic bone in my body

I am a total Penn Central nut and love those big black locomotives, no matter what locos I buy they all get the same black spray job and PC decals, that includes some locos that never ran on the PC.

I model to please myself and have a ball doing what I do, both my N and HO scale layouts are small, totally fictitious but look a little like Pennsylvania, my dream is to visit the Station Inn at Cresson PA, I hope to learn and where possible contribute on this forum

Here's an HD video of the Logan Valley RR set in southwestern Montana in 1957. The layout is still under construction after 25 years but finally moving forward. The layout was started handlaying code 70 rail and turnouts, but some areas were torn out in order to make room for industries and other details but I have moved on to Shinohara code 70 in later work in the layout. It is still a work in progress with many areas to be upgraded.

Question for you to ponder.Lets say company I pays their employees to mold all the parts for their cars RTR and kits.They then pay other employees to sort and pack these cars (with trucks and couplers) in boxes for shipping.Then they pay more employees to load these onto pallets and shrink wrap the pallets.Then they pay more employees to load these pallets of cars into a container.They then pay a trucking company to haul the container to a Intermodal yard,a railroad to haul said container to a port.They then pay a shipping company to ship the container to a certain Asian country where they pay workers to assemble these cars.They then pay a trucking company to return the container to port,a shipping company to ship the container back to the USA.Once again pay the railroad to bring the container back to the intermodal yard where it is transported by truck back to their company where they pay employees to unload the container and move product into their warehouse where once again they pay more employees to ship this product to their distributors.

The real question is "Why is this cheaper than paying an American a living wage to assemble ,package ,and ship this product ?"

Hi guys I could do with your thoughts or advice. As I live in the UK US track supplies are somewhat difficult. I chose ME code 70 and brought back supplies on a vacation in Orlando last year. Now I have decided I do want a through girder bridge on the layout so I am trying to decide what to do for bridge track. If it were inexpensive to get hold of ME code 70 bridge track in the UK I would go that route but as it isn't I'm considering scratch building.

Here's the plan. Buy a Central Valley through girder bridge. Strip code 70 rail from some flex track and apply to the bridge ties supplied with CV bridge kits. Then I need guard rail including the angle sections. As I understand it's usual to go the next code down I am unsure what rail to use. Code 55 rail is available from C&L in the UK <!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="http://www.finescale.org.uk/index.php?route=product/product&path=346&product_id=3296">http://www.finescale.org.uk/index.php?r ... ct_id=3296</a><!-- m --> but I am unsure how well that matches US rail profile or even if my skills are up to that.

I could go for the Walthers code 83 bridge track but I'm unsure how that will look on an un-ballasted track bridge transitioned to ME code 70.

Any other options or advice?

Can anyone tell me what diameter shaft Bowser used on they're main drivers for the steam locomotive kits? I think it 2 mm but I am not certain. All my reference stuff for Bowser has been pack away for our upcoming move.

The Western Pacific had a branch line from Niles Junction to San Jose, in the California Bay Area.  There was a terminal line from the Wilson St Yard in eastern San Jose that followed a fishhook type half-loop to a downtown terminal in west San Jose, near today's Caltrain Diridon station.  This was a purely freight beltline within San Jose, although a gas power passenger car operated between Wilson St yard and Niles Junction in the 1920's.

Below is my proposed track plan for the last few thousand feet of the branch line in west San Jose.  I have already built the bench work along one long side of the wall in my garage.  I would appreciate any feedback you have before I "break ground" on the rail-road.
