  Re: Afternoon At The Museum

I have to apologize. I'm real sorry for the size of the pictures.
I took for granted that everyone had broadband internet connections, and that no one still used dial up.

I took the pictures with my iPhone and downloaded them on my brandie new laptop with Windows 8. I do have MS Picture it, but I don't think its compatible with 8.
I apologize for any inconvenience to those still using dial up and will remedy the situation as soon as possible...In other words, when I can figure out how to get my pictures within the recommended size. Until the, I will delete the pictures, and in a couple of days delete this thread.

Again, I'm sorry.

And thanks GEC for the ID of those juice jacks.

  Testing my new homepage
Posted by: Svein - 07-05-2014, 02:49 AM - Forum: Lower Berth - Replies (9)

I don't know it this is the right place to post this, or if it's appropriate at all, so the mods may feel free to move or delete this post as they see fit.

I'm in the process of learning Joomla, and have created a home page to present our different modelling projects: http://www.hjemstad.no. During testing of the site here in Norway, I received some feedbacks that the site loaded very slowly, and I also experienced some errors while working on the back-end of Joomla. It seems I have fixed most of the bugs now, but I would very much appreciate some feedback from your side of the Atlantic as well. Any comments are welcome, whether regarding the site layout, content, English translations, loading time or other errors that may occur.

Thanks,
Svein

  NS Derailment at Sewickley
Posted by: LiveSteamer - 07-02-2014, 03:23 PM - Forum: Upper Berth - No Replies

Crews are on the scene of a Norfolk Southern train derailment in the Pittsburgh area.

WPXI-TV reports two locomotives derailed in the Sewickley area, about 13 miles northwest of Pittsburgh.

There were injuries reported, but the extent of those were unknown.

A nearby heath care facility was evacuated as a precaution.

The 65K ( empty oil train ) rear ended the 25Z while the 25Z was stopped.

Many of us like to keep tabs on the prototype railroads and while not new to some I would like to share with those that may not be aware of Railway Age..This site offers current news about Class 1s,Short lines and switching roads, saftey etc.

I found it to be interesting reading on today's railroading.

Hello!

Some pictures of my German prototype stuff:

Taken behind the iron curtain: A DR (DDR Reichsbahn) class 50.35

Another class 50.35 (sorry for the bad photo, but it was sometimes not a easy task to mde photos of Railroads in the DDR)

Typical DR rolling stock.

This is staged West Germany in the late 1950's:

Waiting at the loading dock.

This is simply my US prototype layout and just for fun filled with some of my German rolling stock and vehicles. None of it is like out of the box.
Enjoy

  Railway map, Ontario
Posted by: BR60103 - 07-01-2014, 08:38 PM - Forum: Upper Berth - Replies (6)

Does anyone know if there's a current rail map of Ontario?

I'm trying to see if I'm right that all E-W freight has to go through the Toronto area.
