Thought I would start a new one as we are already a couple of days into the new week.



I finally got around to starting on my SP&S stockyard spur switching layout. I have laid out the cork, got the backdrop started, and started to plan out where some of the buildings will go. I still have some smoothing out to do on the backdrop, and then I can start painting clouds, trees and other scenic elements. I have fixed up the turnouts for the layout using PC board ties and details from Proto87 stores, once the backdrop is more complete I will start putting the track in place permanently.

I knew Jim only through this Forum and the "other one", but enjoyed his contributions and his comments. May he rest in peace.

Currently there are eight video shorts on the project website.

Sara has begun interviewing model railroaders and railfans from around Southern California about the hobby and the fascination trains have for so many of us. Eventually scores of people from all phases of the hobby, including layout owners, club members, railfans, hobby shop operators, model railroad photographers, collectors and others, will be interviewed for this documentary with many of the video interviews appearing in the eventual documentary movie.
