Some time ago I lettered some hacks for the home road. I had a decal sheet the had a "Buy War Bonds" add on it (I think they were champs, maybe a PRR set), perfect for my mid 40's railroad.I wanted to do some more cabooses to match this one, but I have no more of the war bond decals. For the life of me I can't remember where I got this one from. I was hoping that some one here is familiar with this logo and could shed some light on what set they are from.         Please help!!!!

The nice H0 Atlas HH660 is close to the HH600 used by IC since 1934. That is within the timespan of my (so far) steam only project.

My question is about the use of the HH600 (Road numbers 9006 - 9013) at the IC. Did they do switching in dense industrial areas only or did do also some light road service pulling local freight trains? I assume they have not been used for heavy switching e.g. in classification yards.
I would like to use them with short (six cars plus cab) local freight trains to serve the fictional small town of my layout. The town is far to small to get it's own switcher. The engine of the local had to do the switching en route.

Update
Case closed. The IC HH600s were used for light switching in the Chicago area only.

I am curious. Do you have a formal workbench/area? Do you use an, as yet, untouched part of your benchwork?
I have an old sewing machine cart that is about as large as a small drafting table that allows me to sit and work. I also use open space on my benchwork.

did anyone else notice the "railroad" that carried the moving camera at the cross-country event at the olympics?

After spinning the power in Deshler E494 continued on to Columbus. Since I was headed that way anyway I decided to give chase. I knew the hardest part to chase would be from Deshler east to Fostoria so I made sure to depart the Corn City before the train did.



Just south of Fostoria, timetable direction east, the train finds some brief sun. This point is known on the railroad as Loudon; just behind me it goes to single track.




Further down the road, just south of the village of Alveda, the train rounds a gentle Ohio curve.




In Carey we can see the classic C&O-style cantilever signals still standing.




Also in Carey is this brick structure, the former interlocking tower guarding the crossing with the New York Central.




Finally, just north of Marion we take our final shot of E494 crossing Hillman-Ford Road.

It snowed on Friday evening so I headed back down to Deshler on Saturday with my camera in-hand:

    I have the following 1:20.3 Brass models I need to sale. Both of these are Accucraft models and are like new. They are very smooth runners.

First one is an 18 ton Plymouth - Sells new for $599.00 - I will sell her for $350.00

Second one is an 8 Ton Whitcomb - Sells new for $309.00 - I will sell her for $200 and throw in 4 Bachmann side dump cars.

Both the locomotives have the original boxes and warranty cards and have not been run for more than a couple of hours each. The plastic Bachmann dump cars do not have boxes. The proposed garden railroad was never started and I'm into other things now. I will ship via UPS to any point in the US.

Well maybe a better way of phrasing the question is whats a fair price for them? I picked up what I believe is a full set of Athearn Norfolk & western Passenger cars today at a train show 8 cars for $90 They don't have light kits or interiors while driving home I was second guessing myself and thought I should have bought the Spectrum cars form a guy farther down the isle for $15/ea. but whats done is done nothing I can do about it now. So did I get taken or was it a fair price? My guts telling sort of fair but not a really great deal what do u guys think?
