Tetters has a topic called score where he bought a nice Railroad lantern. I thought it would be nice if we share our collections. If you think it is a dumb idea just move on if not show us what you have. I will start this with my collection. I have some things which are reproductions or not truly Railroad memorabilia and a few things I can't locate right now.

We all know that those tiny drill bits are very flexible and prone to snap when too much torque is transmitted to that thin little shaft.

Cut the bit in half and discard the shank portion. Chuck the remainder of the bit - the part with the point - into your pin vise and drill away. The shorter shaft is less flexible and therefore less prone to break.

For very tiny drill bits, I discard the upper two-thirds and drill with the remaining point-end-stub. (*note: some visual adjustment by the driller is required!)

The Background.
CSX sold its Newark(Oh) to Fredricktown(Oh) branch to Ohio Central(Columbus & Ohio River) however,in our world the Newark Port Authority bought and will lease the track to a short line operator.Bids went out and the company we work for CDB Industries won the bid and appointed us to see to the needs of this line to include locomotive type..Remembering CDBI is a tight fisted company we need to get the best value for our money.

First there is 14 active customers consisting of 3 lumber/home improvement companies,2 stone quarries,2 warehouses,6 manufacturers and 1 large grain mill.

Of course we will need to sit up a CDBI transload track and distribution center as well at Newark since Newark will be our operation base.

I have a question concerning layout operation. My switching layout has 2 small yard tracks and I would like to know if these tracks should be left empty prior to starting a switching session? The A/D track holds 4 cars without fouling the roadway that crosses the track. Should one of both of these yard tracks be left open to aid in switching cars in and out of the industries?

Hi guys,

i got 2 of the Walthers Cornerstone Paper Plants in a couple weeks ago. Some of you may know that this kit was out of stock at Walthers for some time now, and is now back in stock. Well one of the kits was already sold and my buddy was waiting for it for some time now lol. This left me with the 2nd Paper Plant kit to build. Larry (Brakie) had told me a while back he wanted the kit and also wanted me to build it for him. Were still not sure if hes going to get the kit or not, i think he has some other stuff in mind. But Larry, if your reading this, i can build you another Paper Plant kit if you want it OR you can take this one, but this one will be a bit more then i quoted you as this one took a little longer because i did the brick mortar joints lol

This kit was built pretty much stock, just painted the mortar joints in the main brick building. I also added some more roof details that came with the kit, Walthers gives you extra vents, so i figured well why not use them all? I also build a very small tank and added it next to the 3 vertical tanks up on the roof. Then added some decals, 2 "Superior Paper Main Mill" signs on the Mail Mill Structure, "Shipping", "Receiving", and "Office" signs on the Mail Mill Structure by the loading docks, and 3 "Superior Paper Kraft Mill" signs on the Kraft Mill Building. If the decals look shinny, thats cuz they were still wet when i took the pics. I had just applied them and brushed a layer of Micro-Sol on them. As soon as there completely dry (probably wait till tomorrow morning) ill spray a layer of clear flat on them that will dull them right up.
