Posted by: RobertInOntario - 03-13-2016, 11:35 AM - Forum: Layouts - Replies (7)

Can anyone recommend some good (and hopefully not expensive) track / layout planning software that I could run on my MacBook Pro?

Thanks in advance!

Operated at Jim's House during an open house
Posted by: Josh - 03-12-2016, 07:18 PM - Forum: Strictly Rail Operations - Replies (7)

Operated at Jim's House during an open house. We finished the trains that were left over from his last operating session.

Notes
We had to deal with trains going around the loop for the open house.

  EMD F-unit # boards.
Posted by: e-paw - 03-12-2016, 06:33 PM - Forum: Scratchbuilding and kitbashing - All Scales - Replies (1)

A few years back when The Anthracite Railroads Historical repainted there f-3 trio from CNJ to DL&W The proper number board was needed for the nose. As it turns out we had a copy of the drawings from EMD in our archives. So with permission from the ARHS (where I am a member) I am posting a copy of them here for anyone who may need them for a modeling project. The same number boards were used by many railroads and were part of EMD's stock catalog.

You can see the new plate that we were able to make from the drawings, mounted on the nose door. Some railroads had them placed under the headlight but all the dimensions are the same. EMD also had a 4 digit version of these plates but, I do not have drawings of them. Given that the width of the digits are shown on the drawing it should not be to hard to figure it out. the 4 digit version also had an angled crease running top to bottom in the center of the plate to compensate for the round curve of the nose.

  NJ Transit bus decals
Posted by: Rscott417 - 03-08-2016, 05:15 PM - Forum: HO Modeling - Replies (5)

I bought a road champs NJT bus and must have been defective or something because when I took the interior out to add seated figures the front end crumbled apart. I bought another road champs bus to see if I could swap out parts but it's one solid cast. So now that I have another bus I was thinking I could decal it for NJT but I don't know where I can purchase any if they even exist. Does anyone have a source for NJT decals?
