  Grandt Line Box Cabs

Has anyone else built these ? I've always liked them and decided to build one motorized and one tag long that will be somewhat of a MOW rig . They don't run particularly well with the short wheel base especially through turnouts ....but it is running . Couplers , paint etc. is next .

  Local Train Show
Posted by: Prairie Trains - 02-24-2016, 01:35 PM - Forum: O/G and Larger Model Railroads - No Replies

Last weekend was the local train show in Saskatoon. I helped a friend set up, run and take down his MTH O gauge layout. It was held in a museum which at best is fairly dark. We worked from six to eight thirty on Thursday night and from nine to about five on Friday to get it running. With more help on Sunday night it only took from four thirty till about eight to take down and pack back into its trailer. But it was a good weekend overall. Over 5000 paid admissions over the two days. Sorry about the dark pictures.

  Kato Blomberg Trucks, HO scale
Posted by: Southgate - 02-23-2016, 04:55 AM - Forum: Equipment and Supply sources - No Replies

I recently bought 5 pairs of these trucks from an eBay seller who apparently is not a rail modeler. So when they got here, I looked them over, played around with them with various motors and such. I even dissected one all the way down to see if I could find any other potential uses, which I did. These are good quality as found on Kato locomotives.

Having decided that 5 pairs isn't enough, I thought I'd go back for more. His original price was more than fair, WAY better than any other price I'd ever seen on eBay, but now I see he has dropped his price on sets of 10 pairs. Original price was $79.99 for 10 PAIR, now it's 49.99 plus fair shipping. He also sells in smaller quantities.

These are complete Kato Blomberg trucks, with the typical brass worm over idler driving 14 tooth axle gears. They do require that the original outer sideframes be used to help support the brass outer bearings, or as I plan to do, modify other plastic trucks (alco) to do so. they even have the u joints on the (2mm) input shaft.

I like to build and modify HO locomotives, and this deal can't be beat. I thought I'd pass it along. I am not associated with this seller in any way other than a very satisfied buyer.

  Problems posting pictures
Posted by: bdw9535 - 02-19-2016, 07:21 PM - Forum: Forum Problems and Requests - Replies (10)

Have been having problems posting multiple pictures in the same post. I used to be able to write a text then load a picture from my computer and place them in line with the text and then continue with a text and pictures up to five photos. Now when I do this all the photos go to the top of the text and are not in order. Any suggestions?

Bruce
